On March 7, the Limay 0 KM, LIFT, KADIWA, Onion Cold Storage, and Drip Fertigation in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture-High Value Crops Development Program, RFO III Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division, and Bataan Farms were officially launched at the Bunker Balanga City, Bataan.

Guest of honor is Department of Agriculture – Philippines (DA) Sec. Francisco P. Tiu Laurel, Jr., along with other DA officials including Asec. Genevieve E. Velicaria-Guevarra, Asec. Daniel Atayde, Dir. Junibert E. De Sagun, Dir. Gerald Glenn F. Panganiban, Dir. Eduardo L. Lapuz, Cheryl Marie N. Caballero, and other DA staff. 

Also present are the government officials of Bataan including Cong. Albert S. Garcia, Cong. Maria Angela S. Garcia, Gov. Jose Enrique S. Garcia, Vice Gov. Ma. Cristina Garcia, Balanga City Mayor Francis Anthony Garcia, and other LGU officials. 

The Officials of partner universities are also in attendance including Pres. Ruby S. Matibag, Ph.D. of Bataan Peninsula State University and Pres. Elmer B. De Leon of Limay Polytechnic College, as well as farmer beneficiaries.

The Ceremonial Signing presided over by Sec. Laurel., and other DA and Bataan officials at the Atrium Lobby. This included the following:

-Ceremonial Signing of the Memorandum of Agreement for the Limay 0KM
-Ceremonial Signing of the Memorandum of Agreement for the LIFT Project
-Ceremonial Awarding of Check for the KADIWA Grant
-Ceremonial Turn Over of the Onion Cold Storage Facility located in Mabiga, Hermosa

The launch of these initiatives offers a brighter future for agriculture in Balanga City, as well as improved livelihoods for its farmers and stakeholders.
