The Department of Agriculture (DA) celebrates the Month of Farmers and Fishermen with the theme “Pagpupugay sa mga masisipag na magsasaka at mangingisda na katuwang tungo sa Masaganang Bagong Pilipinas!”. The celebration kicked off today, May 20, 2024, at the DA Central Office Main Lobby. DA Secretary Francisco P. Tiu Laurel, Jr. and Undersecretary for Operations, Roger V. Navarro, delivered their respective messages. The program highlighted the recognition and appreciation of outstanding farmers and fishermen. This was followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony with other key officials of the DA.
Also present were Assistant Secretary for Consumer Affairs and KADIWA Program Head, Atty. Genevieve E. Velicaria-Guevarra; Assistant Secretary for Logistics, Daniel Alfonso N. Atayde; and the Director of the Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Service, Junibert E. De Sagun, who toured and purchased products in the lobby.
Various products, including fresh vegetables and fruits, are once again available for purchase at the DA-Main Lobby, open to the public starting today until Friday, May 24.
