The Department of Agriculture (DA) is celebrating its 126th Founding Anniversary. As part of the celebration, a KADIWA bazaar offering a variety of goods and basic commodities is set up at the DA main lobby from June 24 to 28, 2024.
DA has extended invitations to partner farmers’ cooperative associations (FCAs) and small business owners to participate in the bazaar to market and promote their agricultural produce and other locally-made products. Additionally, this event aims to strengthen the local economy by supporting homegrown enterprises and fostering a community of sustainable agricultural practices.
The one-week KADIWA bazaar commenced with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Department of Agriculture (DA) Secretary Francisco T. Laurel Jr., Assistant Secretary for Consumer Affairs and KADIWA Program Head, Atty. Genevieve E. Velicaria-Guevarra, alongside other key officials of the DA.
Established on June 23, 1898, DA has played a significant role in the Philippine economy by promoting agricultural development and growth. It provides the policy framework, public investments, and support services needed for domestic and export-oriented business enterprises.
