The Department of Agriculture, through the Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Service (AMAS), successfully held the ceremonial turnover of the KADIWA Project to the farmers and fisherfolks of Mulanay at the New Integrated Terminal, Brgy. Sta. Rosa, Mulanay, Quezon on September 30, 2024.
The program was graced by DA Assistant Secretary for Agribusiness, Marketing and Consumer Affairs, and KADIWA Program Head, Atty. Genevieve Guevarra, alongside employees of the DA and members of the Sangguniang Bayan of the Municipality of Mulanay.
The Municipality of Mulanay is one of the recipients of the KADIWA Financial Grant Assistance program of the Department of Agriculture through the project entitled “Procurement of Hauling and Delivery Service Vehicles and Marketing Implements for Farmers, Fisherfolks, and Livestock Farmers of the Municipality of Mulanay,” amounting to PhP 5,000,000.00.
This project will be of great help in reducing transportation costs and increasing the income of the intended farmer and fisherfolk beneficiaries through the KADIWA vehicles. Additionally, the marketing implements will help reduce postharvest losses, resulting in fairer and increased marketable prices for their commodities.
