Alongside the opening of the KADIWA ng Pangulo in Tagum City, Davao del Norte on March 25-26, Department of Agriculture (DA) Assistant Secretary for Legislative Affairs, DLLO, and Consumer Affairs, and KADIWA Program Head Atty. Genevieve E. Velicaria-Guevarra also visited other farmer cooperative associations (FCAs) in Davao City that received KADIWA Financial Grants from the DA.

Following the launch of the KNP in Tagum City, Asec. Guevarra, accompanied by DA Regional Field Office XI (DA-RFO XI) Regional Executive Director Abel James I. Monteagudo, and other DA staff, visited the Biao Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Cooperative (BARBCO)  in Brgy. Talandang, Tugbok District. Among the benefits received by the group were the KADIWA store and support for their chocolate processing plant, including a one million peso (P1M) working capital, hauling truck, equipment, and machineries.

The Manuel Guinga and Sirib Growers and Employees Multi Purpose Cooperative (MAGSIGE MPC) on Villafuerte St., Calinan, was also visited. Through the Enhanced KADIWA and Inspire Program Financial Grant from DA totaling P9.7M, approximately 3,000 farmers and consumers benefit from their KADIWA store and coffee processing plant.

Asec. Guevarra’s group also visited the Durian Industry Association of Davao City (DIADC) which received support from KADIWA and the High Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP), particularly Belviz Farm in Brgy. Wangan.

The group also visited ENG SENG Food Products and the Malagos Chocolate Museum in Calinan, which are supported by DA through market linkage via KADIWA, and trade fairs at local and international events.
