The Department of Agriculture (DA), in collaboration with the Local Government Unit of San Jose del Monte is a joint project of the Department of Agriculture (DA) and the local government of San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony and blessing of the retail sales area were led by San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan Lone District Representative Florida P. Robes, San Jose del Monte City Mayor Arturo B. Robes, Assistant Secretary for Consumer Affairs and KADIWA Program Head Atty. Genevieve E. Velicaria-Guevarra, and Director of Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Service Junibert E. De Sagun.
“Ang programang ito ay bahagi ng hakbang ng pamahalaan, sa pakikipagtulungan sa mga local government units, upang matiyak na ang mga magsasakang Pilipino ay magkaroon ng pagkakataong direktang maibenta ang kanilang mga produkto sa mga mamimili. Layunin ng KADIWA Center na ipaabot sa ating mga mamamayan ang mga mura at mas abot-kayang mga produkto, at magkaroon ng mas accessible at mas convenient na one-stop center ng mga pangunahing bilihin,” said Asec. Guevarra.
Meanwhile, Congresswoman Rida Robes and Mayor Arthur Robes warmly welcomed the opening of the KADIWA Center, recognizing its benefits for the entire community. More than 5000 residents of SJDM patronized the opening of their KADIWA Center.
As KADIWA Center-compliant, the KADIWA Center in SJDM is complete with a variety of goods, including assorted highland and lowland vegetables, rice, eggs, sugar, spices, root crops, fruits, fishery products, meat and poultry products, canned goods, cooking oil, condiments, and instant noodles.
More KADIWA Centers are in the pipeline to be established by the DA throughout the country this year.
