In recognition and tribute to Women, the Department of Agriculture – Philippines (DA) joins in the celebration of the 2024 National Women’s Month. DA Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. led the Kick-off ceremony this Monday, March 4, together with Undersecretary for Attached Agencies and Corporations, and Chairperson of the Gender and Development (GAD) Focal Point System, Agnes Catherine T. Miranda, Undersecretary for Special Concerns and for Official Development Assistance (ODA) – Foreign Aid/Grants, Jerome V. Oliveros, Assistant Secretary and DA Spokesperson, Arnel V. De Mesa, and Assistant Secretary for Legislative Affairs, DLLO, and Consumer Affairs and KADIWA Program Head, Atty. Genevieve E. Velicaria-Guevarra.

This year’s theme is ” Lipunang patas para sa bagong Pilipinas. Kakayahan ng kababaihan, Patutunayan!” It aims to demonstrate respect and provide opportunities for women to fulfill their dreams in any field.

Let us all support and strengthen the role and capabilities of women in society. Stay tuned for the webinar series to be presented by the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) and GAD, focusing on reproductive health education, family planning, and more.

The exhibit and retail selling of KADIWA will be open to the public from March 4-8, 2024, at the DA Main Lobby.
